DMC Double Monk in Dark Brown Box Calf
The DMC keeps to one colour and two textures. It is a double monk, closed by two straps that come across the upper and nothing else.
Dark brown box calf and dark brown painted full grain divide the shoe between them, smooth against slightly coarser, the same shade twice over. Underneath is a brown heeled rubber sole, which raises the shoe a little and makes it more forgiving on a hard surface. The last is the Zurigo, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Each pair is handmade.
Double monks read as the modern version of a formal shoe, and this one is built to be worn rather than saved. The raised bottom is the giveaway. It will take a full day standing up and still look right under tailoring at the end of it.
