Three panels and one strap. The Benz is a single monk that puts a plaid across the part of the shoe most people never decorate.
Plaid sartorial shares the upper with grey painted calf and navy painted calf, so a pattern sits between two plain tones that agree with it. Navy calf leather lines the inside. The sole is leather with buttons rubber injections set into it for grip. It is built on the Zurigo last, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Handmade throughout.
Monkstraps are popular because a strap and a buckle are comfortable and get noticed, and this one gets noticed faster than most. It belongs with an outfit that has settled everything else already. Grey or navy trousers, and nothing above the ankle with a pattern on it.
