White and navy, one strap, one buckle. The Aja is the summer end of a shape that usually lives in dark colours.
White box calf carries most of the upper with navy kid suede set against it, smooth against soft. Navy calf leather lines the inside. Underneath is a plain black Goodyear leather sole. The shoe sits on the Monti last, whose slightly square toe gives it a firmer outline. Handmade, so no two pairs match exactly.
A single monkstrap is comfortable and has become a staple because it gets attention without effort, and a pale one gets rather more of it. This is a shoe for warm months and light trousers. Everything else worn with it should stay out of its way.
