Two patinas, one grey and one cognac, meeting on a shoe that has only two straps to organise them.
Grey crust patina and cognac crust patina share the upper, cool against warm, both hand finished so neither lands the same way twice. Brown calf leather lines the inside and the sole is plain ultramar leather. It sits on the Monti last, whose slightly square toe firms up the outline. Every pair is handmade.
The double monk is the modern turn on a classic, elegant shape, and using two patinas is about as far as that turn goes. This is a shoe for being seen in rather than for disappearing. Plain dark trousers, and nothing else with a finish on it.
