Two browns, one shoe. The QE04 sets a dark upper against a warmer one and lets the loafer's plainness hold them together.
Dark brown painted calf takes most of the shoe, with cognac painted full grain worked in beside it, so the two shades meet without either taking over. A running sole is fitted below. It is built on the Zurigo last, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Every pair is handmade, and small differences between pairs are part of that.
The loafer's argument has always been the same: laceless, easy to take on, correct at the weekend and correct in the office. The running sole here adds distance to the list. This is the pair for a day that involves more walking than sitting down.
