Cloth, nap and smooth leather all appear on the NYC, which is a lot of surface for a shoe with only two straps to organise it.
The panels are nailhead sartorial, grey lux suede and navy painted calf. Tan calf leather lines the inside, warmer than anything on the outside. The sole is a brown heeled rubber one, which raises the shoe and takes the shock out of a pavement. It is built on the Zurigo last, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Handmade.
The double monk is the modern twist on a classic, elegant shape, and this is the version that survives a full day rather than an evening. It goes under tailoring and it goes with trousers on their own. Keep the rest plain, since the shoe is already three things at once.
