A wholecut is made from a single cut of leather and carries almost no stitching, which leaves the Lloyd's cognac crust patina nothing to compete with.
That patina is the entire upper, with closed channel lacing keeping the front unbroken. Brown calf leather lines the inside. A running sole is fitted below, an unusually practical bottom for the most formal shape there is. It is built on the Zurigo last, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Handmade.
This shape is often called the most formal men's shoe available, and its sleek design and limited stitching are the reason. The patina makes it personal and the sole makes it wearable. Wear it where a plain shoe would be correct and you want something better than correct.
