A wholecut is cut from a single piece of leather, which is why it carries almost no stitching, and the Himari does the whole thing in burgundy.
Burgundy painted calf and burgundy box calf make up the upper, the same colour in two finishes, with closed channel lacing keeping the front unbroken. Tan calf leather lines the inside. The sole is a fenix art sole. It is built on the Zurigo last, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Handmade.
This shape is often called the most formal men's shoe available, and its sleek design and limited stitching are why. Burgundy stops it being severe about that. Wear it where black would be expected and you would rather not be.
