Grey twice, in two materials that handle light completely differently. The Elegancia is a double monk with no colour to fall back on.
Flannel in dark grey shares the upper with grey waxed Italian suede, cloth beside a nap that has been waxed until it holds a sheen. Orange calf leather lines the inside. The sole is cognac leather with rubber buttons injections. It is built on the Zurigo last, rounded at the toe for the traditional English look. Every pair is handmade.
The double monk is the modern reading of a classic, elegant shape, and doing it entirely in grey is the most restrained version of that reading. It goes under a suit without argument. Charcoal or navy trousers, and it will look considered rather than loud.
